Crossed Willow Band

Once upon a time, not so long ago, Polish legend has it that a mother cat was crying on the bank of a river. Her kittens had fallen into the river while chasing butterflies, and couldn't swim. Moved by her cries, the willows at the river’s edge longed to help her, so they swept their long, graceful branches into the waters to rescue them. The tiny kittens gripped on tightly to their branches and were safely brought to shore. According to legend, the willow branches sprout little fur-like buds at their tips each spring, in memory of where the kittens once clung.

This wedding band – quite possibly the daintiest of them all! – is inspired by the crossed branches of the graceful willow tree, adorned with tiny pussy willow buds.
